The Commission Process Completed.

Following on from my last blog on the commission process, I have now finished the painting for my clients in Adelaide and we’re all really happy with the end product. I enjoyed this process greatly as the subject has been challenging for me but also close to my heart; a mother and child. After receiving a brief on the wishes of the client (a birthday gift for his wife, depicting her and her son together) I have been working intermittently on this painting and am now pleased to hand it over to a loving home.

They came in to pick her up today (yes they drove from Adeliade to Daylesford and used it as an excuse for a mini break). It was great to meet them all in person and they are just lovely. Here’s a picture of the final painting and of the subjects with me at The Pantechnicon Gallery, Daylesford.

I want to thank them for trusting me to produce a second painting for their home, for being patient and to embracing the journey.

Here are a series of pics of the process over all.

    Dear Jodie,

I just wanted to drop by and say thank you so much for the wonderful gift you created for me by capturing my wife and son in the commission piece.
We love the painting we bought from you last year and I felt sure you would convey the same depth of feeling in our commission as you do in all your work, you didn’t disappoint. For anyone considering a commission of someone special I can honestly say Jodie makes it a very easy process, she is a great listener and takes the time to understand you, your life and your expectations. Thank you once again, we will travel home with it safely and it will become a vibrant part of our home.
    Sincerely,
    Darren Pollock
